Bach's St. Matthew Passion

The Houston Symphony Chorus, the official choral unit of the Houston Symphony, consists of highly skilled and talented volunteer singers. Over the years, singers in this historic ensemble have learned and performed the world's great choral-orchestral masterworks under the batons of Andrés Orozco-Estrada, Michael Krajewski, Hans Graf, Robert Shaw, Mitch Miller, Peter Schrier, Helmut Rilling and Nicholas McGegan, among many others. Under the leadership of Director Emeritus Charles Hausmann, the Chorus made several European concert tours performing with orchestras in Germany, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Hungary, Austria, England, and Mexico.   They have performed previously with Mercury in Handel’s Complete Messiah, Vivaldi's Gloria, Mozart's Requiem and Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony.
