A Winter’s Journey

Tenor Nicholas Phan returns to perform with Mercury in a dramatic staging of Winterreise - the second of Schubert’s three song cycles.  An introspective and intensely dramatic journey, this tale of love and loss follows a man through an emotional winter. Schubert’s song cycle is deeply moving and poignantly evocative and one of his most important contributions to classical music.  Featuring orchestrations by Antoine Plante with staging and direction by Denis Plante.

This concert is made possible in part by the Houston Endowment and the City of Houston through Houston Arts Alliance.
