Pressure creates diamonds

Hyped as the heir apparent to Beethoven, expectations wore heavy on Brahms as he wrote his First Symphony. What resulted was an incredibly dramatic work filled with lyrical melodies, rich harmonies, and a victorious hymn-like finale.  This work is paired with Beethoven’s only Violin Concerto – a virtuosic masterpiece.

This concert is produced by the University of Houston Clear Lake, tickets are available through UHCL Cultural Arts.
